Red Rock State Park is on the way between Zion N.P. and Bryce N.P. if you are touring the area.   It is well worth the trip, and as you can see, aptly named. 

This old Bristlecone Pine was about 3/4 the way up the incline of loose rock you see at the bottom of the photo.  The sun had just set so the light was soft and even, excellent for revealing fine detail and subtle variations in tone.
